Please join us for our annual winter family open house at the Norval Outdoor School on Sunday, Jan. 29th 2023 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Stephen House will be open and food and refreshments will be available.
These free open houses are held on Sunday afternoons in October, January, March and May. The idea is to open up Norval to UCC community members and offer a variety of outdoor activities to enjoy. At our January Open House, join us for:

Cross-country skiing: Bring your own or use ours. We have lots of skis and boots in all sizes. Instructors will teach beginners and take them on a ski tour. More advanced skiers are welcome to follow one of our marked trails. The trails aren’t track-set.

Tobogganing: Zoom down our popular toboggan hill in the arboretum. Bring your own or use one of ours. Please bring a helmet.

Winter hiking: Winter is a beautiful time to go for a guided walk around the property. Feel free to wear a pair of our snowshoes.

Bird feeder craft: Make a pine cone suet bird feeder in our classroom and hang it up outside. The Norval staff will teach you to attempt to feed a bird by hand.

Directions: Take Highway 401 west to Winston Churchill Boulevard. Follow Winston Churchill Boulevard north and go through the Village of Norval. Continue straight ahead. The entrance to the Norval property is on your left, 1.2 km north of the village stoplight. The drive takes about 50 minutes from UCC in light traffic.
